Purpose
The Tree Board consists of seven members, each serving a four-year term. This board plans and recommends the placement of trees within our community. The Tree Board meets on the fourth Wednesday of every other month at 5:30 p.m. at Johnston City Hall.
The primary duties of the Board include:
- Act as volunteers for tree-related activities, including the residential tree sale and invasive species clean-ups
- Establishing guidelines for tree care, preservation, trimming, planting, replanting, removal, or disposal of trees
- Provide recommendations on landscape plantings within street rights-of-way, parks and public spaces to preserve and enhance the aesthetics of our community
- Report to Council on the guidelines recommended
